A day of fun and wild experimentation! Learn how to work spontaneously and joyfully as you make your own painted papers to use in collages, happy mail, art journals and more. In the second part of the workshop learn how to create quick collages that go outside the box!
This is a two part workshop:
Part 1: 9:30am-1:00pmish: You will learn many ways to paint on paper with watercolor, acrylics, inks and sprays using brushes, brayers, credit cards and other experimental tools creating a bevy of painted papers to work with in part 2 of the workshop.
Part 2:
1:30- 5:00pm: In part 2 we put away the paints and bring out the pens, markers, oil pastels and cray-pas. Now its time to experiment with lines, patterns, doodles and dots. (You can’t do it wrong). From about 3pm on you will begin to use your stash creating a number of quick collages in surprising ways. You will be amazed at what you create and how fun it is! The last 1/2 hour of the workshop is reserved for witnessing what was made and sharing.
All supplies are included! If you have attended past workshops, such as SoulCollage and Gelliplate you can bring your painted papers from that to add to and collage with.
Updated Covid-19 Policy:
Participants are expected to be vaccinated. As of this writing (May 23, 2022) Palm Beach County has JUST been moved to the high risk category due to increasing number of infections.
Even though classes at the studio are small 7-10 masking is encouraged (but will be optional). As the pandemic is a fluid ever-changing situation masking policy may change as well.
If you have been exposed to someone with Covid, or feel ill you are expected to not come to class. If you have to miss a scheduled class due to Covid exposure or illness credit will be given towards a future class or workshop, or some other arrangement can be made.
