Healing Bowl: An Expressive Arts Kintsugi Experience

Sorry this workshop is now full.

Find Your Pieces tell Your Story:

Sorry this workshop is now full.

Does it feel like there is a lot breaking up in THE world and/or in YOUR world? This workshop is a healing remedy!

You’ll begin by marking what wants to be released on the surface of a specially prepared bowl. With a swift, intentional break, you’ll create change — then transform the pieces through painting, embellishing, and reassembling the bowl into a new form.

This is a tender, cathartic, and deeply empowering day. Photos from past workshops are available on the site if you’d like a glimpse into the experience.

About the Expressive Arts version of the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi:

Each of us holds experiences that can make us feel broken. The Japanese art of Kintsugi allows us to embrace the broken places, accept what has changed and learn to create with what remains. By mending the cracks between our broken pieces, we build resilience and strength. Our beauty shines through the cracks, and we can find we are truly stronger in the broken places.

A picture is worth a thousand words, here are a few photos from past workshops.

A special thanks to Christa Brennan LCAT, LPC, ATR-BC, creator and developer of BROKEN BOWL ®, this very special Expressive Arts adaptation of the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi.
And many thanks to The Expressive Arts Summit where I learned about Broken Bowl® and trained as a facilitator in the technique.
