Join us for a transformative 8-week class series designed to navigate and explore the complex and often tumultuous times we are living through. "Soul Mapping ~ The Body Politic and Your Own Deep Calling" invites you to meet the moment we are living through collectively while deeply exploring your unique Soul and its connection and message to the World. We’ll be using intuitive painting and reflective art journal prompts as our guide.
Workshop Overview
In this journey, we will engage in large-scale painting projects where your body becomes the template for exploration. Accompanied by a handmade art journal, this process serves as a companion in your self-discovery. Through art-making and reflection, we will delve into understanding who you are, how you exist in the world, and the ways the world has shaped you.
Key Questions Explored:
How has your class, race, gender, sexual orientation, and surrounding culture influenced your being?
How has your Soul interacted with the circumstances of your life? What has your Soul been learning and how has it been growing?
What role do you play as a Soul-citizen of the World, and what is your next step?
What to Expect
Although these themes may seem daunting and heady, they are approached through expressive arts processes of body-mapping and art journaling. This allows you to transition from mental analysis to a deeper, soulful engagement with the gifts and challenges of being a human Soul in the 21st century in a process that includes a juicy exploration of your "energy body" and inner world as well as how the outer world has impacted your Soul.
This workshop builds upon the theoretical foundations of previous body mapping workshops at Juicy Creatives Studio called "The Body Prismatic".

Materials and steps to create your own unique art journal as a basis for exploration
How It Works
In our first session we will lay the groundwork for our 7 week journey with writing prompts, creation of your own unique handmade art journal, and a movement exploration process that will help you find an initial pose. We’ll trace our shadows, outlining our forms onto life-size paper. This outline gives you a compelling place to start your creative journey.
Each week the journey continues with prompts that inspire us to flow with shapes colors, words, doodles and oodles of paint to explore and express emergent soul-level feelings and nudges. Even if you have NEVER lifted a paint brush before you will find yourself swept into the momentum of free creative expression and aha moments.

Why “Body Politic”? ~ A Personal Statement
As I sat down to design this workshop, the phrase "Body Politic" persistently echoed in my mind. This intrigue is a testament to the nature of intuition—words or images often emerge unbidden, yet they beckon us to explore deeper meanings. Driven by curiosity, I delved into some research and stumbled upon a fascinating image and reference on Wikipedia (see below). This discovery opened the floodgates to a multitude of questions that, I believe, are incredibly potent and ripe for exploration through the creative process.
As a creativity coach, I am keenly aware that I do not possess answers for you. However, I am convinced that in a nurturing, non-judgmental environment, rich with art supplies and inquisitive heart-minds, each individual can unearth their own answers. It is within this unique space that your soul's purpose on earth can be revealed and embraced.
