Magical Tarot Lab: Create Your Own Personal Symbolic Deck!

In this monthly, Juicy, Tarot Creation Workshop, you will learn about and create your own Tarot cards! Join us in a supportive, fun and inspiring environment to explore within yourself the dynamics so beautifully depicted in a Tarot deck. Explore, Create, and Enjoy!

Learn tarot from the inside out by creating your own photo-collaged tarot cards. In each of these monthly  ½ day mini-retreats you will explore the meaning of a different set of related symbols and archetypes and have the opportunity to create collaged cards for your deck with deep personal meaning.  No previous art or tarot experience is expected or required.

An informative and entertaining lecture and discussion starts out each lab where you will learn all about the basic structure and history of the tarot deck. This month’s program, we will explore the theme of the Number Three in Tarot. Symbolically, the number 3 is about growth, expansion, creation, depth, and transcendence. By engaging with the “3’s” in Tarot you will cultivate a more mindful awareness of these dynamics in your life.

You will learn about and discuss the four #3 cards of the minor arcana and the three #3 cards of the major arcana, including the Empress, Hanged Man, and the World.

The program begins with a fast paced slide show overview of Tarot, including history, structure of the deck, symbolic language and how to work with the cards to awaken your intuitive gifts.

Next we will dive deep into our monthly theme, in this case the “Threes of Tarot”. You will be Invited to explore the symbolism of the number 3 within the Tarot's Major and Minor Arcana through discussion + creative, experiential activities.

Then get ready to explore the treasure trove of photo images and mixed media supplies in the studio to create your own version of the Tarot cards. For the next couple hours you will create as many cards as you choose with instructions and guidance on creating collaged cards or other mixed media methods to express YOUR version of the tarot cards.

You will have several options for size and shape of your deck — round, rectangle or square.

2019 Class of Tarot Creators!

2019 Class of Tarot Creators!

Here is an excerpt from Frank’s blog that can help you understand the intuitive fun and sheer creative adventure this class is going to be:

”Imagine your own Fool. Here’s the one I created a few weeks ago:

It’s nothing like the Rider Waite deck, or any others I’ve ever seen, that’s for sure! And that’s exactly the point. I wanted something whimsical, child-like, fun, even a little crazy. These are the energies of card #0, the Fool, and what I put into the creation of this card. What do you think?

Here’s the one I made of The High Priestess, Major Arcana #2:

IMG_5072.jpg

Yes, that is one very big eye! I chose the image because I was so blown away by it. My intuition said, yes! I have to have that image on my Priestess card! Whenever I use my deck and draw this card I will always be reminded of the deep intuitive truths I have within me. That little box on the bottom right of the card is a reflective surface, a tiny mirror that will tell me to LOOK WITHIN MYSELF”

What past participants had to say about the course:

Carol Moncrief: “I’ve taken Tarot classes before and felt so overwhelmed by the material that I didn’t take much with me. But this process orientation to the cards has allowed me to be clear on the meaning of the cards and the creative experience itself was great, especially being with a group of like-minded people.”

Connie: My two words for this class are Enlightened and Empowerment! I feel enlightened in that I now have a greater understanding of tarot and I feel empowered to take everything I’ve learned and work with MY tarot cards daily and dive deeper.

Marisol: “This was a real journey of self-discovery finding the different archetypes of the Tarot within me — a different way to see and connect with parts of self.”
