Honoring Ginny Hale Meredith ~
Long time “juicy creative” and dear friend

My dear friend—and Juicy Creatives student of more than 12 years— Ginny Hale Meredith passed away Wednesday morning January 14th, 2026 in hospice, surrounded by deep love and her family.

I have hundreds and hundreds of photos and videos of Ginny creating in the studio. I’ve shared just a few here to honor the extraordinary creative, joyful, and brave spirit that she was. Ginny inspired all of us—especially me—with her unwavering positivity, hilarious sense of humor, deep gentleness, playful FUN, and wild, soulful creativity. Through years of living with cancer—through remissions and reactivations—she showed up again and again with courage, curiosity, and heart.

Juicy Creatives, as it exists in Lake Worth today, is what it is in large part because of Ginny.

I remember a very uncertain and painful time when the City of Lake Worth Beach told me I could no longer teach classes in my home due to municipal code. I had shut my doors, unsure of what would come next as I tried to "fight city hall" and change the zoning laws with the help of so many others.

During that time, Ginny called me and said,

“Elise, I’m going crazy without art class. Couldn’t you just teach some secret classes?”

And just like that, ✨Secret Soul Lab✨ was born—an underground expressive arts group, meeting quietly in my home each week, like a book club but with paint, intuition, and soul. That moment—her insistence, her belief, her hunger for creativity—helped keep the flame alive when I was close to letting it go out.

Ginny had that gift: she believed in creativity as medicine, as joy, as lifeline—and she believed in me when it mattered most.

I will carry her laughter, her courage, and her creative spirit with me always.

Looking back over her work—especially in the final years of her painting journey—I see a deep exploration of belonging: belonging here on Earth, and belonging in the cosmos. And when you painted beside Ginny, she brought you there with her.

Her way of seeing and celebrating her place in “it all” carried a palpable spirituality—one that filled me with awe, wonder, and often tears.

It may be hard to make out all the details in the images of her final paintings, but I invite you to look closely. Look for the angels hidden in the landscapes. Look for the meditating figures above and below. Look for the hidden doorways—revealing Ginny as the Magician of the Tarot, and beyond that, the World card. As if she were saying, “It’s a short journey really—from Fool, to Magician, to revelation. Enjoy the journey.”

In the painting classes at Juicy Creatives, at the end of each eight-week series, we embody our paintings—we step into the worlds we’ve been creating. This is where the real magic happens. And I will forever miss Ginny in those moments—singing, dancing, and vibrating with the energy of the worlds she brought into being with colors and brushes.

Ginny continued to create—bravely, playfully, devotionally—well into her final year on Earth. Even as her body weakened and her hands trembled as she held the brush, her imagination stayed alive, curious, and luminous. She showed us that creativity does not belong only to the young, the well, or the unbroken. It belongs to anyone willing to show up and listen.

May we honor Ginny by continuing to create—especially when it feels hard, uncertain, or tender. May we trust the images that arrive, the songs that rise, the worlds that ask to be born through us. And may we remember, as Ginny taught us, that creativity is not a luxury—it is a way of loving life, all the way to the end.

Rest in peace, dear Ginny. Thank you for your courage, your humor, your faith in creativity, and the countless ways you helped shape this community. You will never be forgotten.

Ginny’s Art and joy!
